In each apartment or house, there will be many rooms with different functions from the living room, kitchen and dining room to the bedroom, bathroom and entertainment room. In particular, the bedroom is the space most valued by the owner because it is a place for family members to relax and rest after a long day of studying and working. Everyone must have heard a lot of the phrase “Master bedroom”, so what makes it special compared to a normal bedroom? Let’s figure it out with AVA architects.

The master bedroom is considered the main bedroom of the house and this space is often used by the owner. Therefore, in the layout plan, not only the view but also the room area is always prioritised. A master bedroom will have the most space compared to others for private living from the dressing room, wardrobe, and TV corner to the private toilet...All to bring full utility conveniently and privately, while showing the personality and taste of the owner.

So what conditions are needed to make a master bedroom? Firstly, the characteristic of this room is the area. Depending on the area of the apartment or house, the master room usually has an area of 30m2 to 40m2, 60m2 or more. With such a large area, the owner can comfortably arrange wooden beds, wardrobe space or other decorations. The current design trend according to the architects, 90% of the master bedrooms are oriented towards modern style - this is a design model that is not too fussy, eliminating unnecessary cumbersome details. Instead, it emphasizes the interior layout accompanied by a dark colour scheme suitable for young couples to bring beautiful, classy and luxurious bedroom spaces.

The beds in the master bedroom are often covered with leather or fabric to increase art, and the headboard detail is also carefully designed to provide an exquisite and luxurious interior space. For the dressing room space, architects must calculate and come up with a reasonable design from the hanging space, and folding space to the space occupied by the cabinet, so that they are both aesthetically effective and bring a spacious feeling to the entire space. In the dressing room, apart from clothes, there will be many different types of accessories such as shoes, bags, and ties,... Therefore, the functional arrangement of shelves, and draws dividing the areas into groups of things ensures that they are not only scientific and reasonable but also ensure neat storage, avoiding important losses in the master bedroom space.

Just like a normal bathroom, the master bathroom design is usually placed within the bedroom. Normally, the master bathroom will be divided into dry and wet areas. This is not only to ensure safety and comfort during use but also to help install a more standardized ventilation and dehumidification system. For some master bedrooms with a small area, the glass walls can be used for the bathroom to make the overall design airier. This trend is especially common in condos-when hosts want to reserve more space for bedrooms and dressing rooms.
